Meditation is a practice aimed at finding inner peace, the emptiness of the mind, altered states of consciousness, the progressive calm of the mind, or simple relaxation. Aromatherapy has the same approach, providing benefits to the whole being and that is why the combination of meditation and aromatherapy is the most appropriate.

You should know that essential oils have very profound effects, far beyond simple smells. In fact, they can act on the body in a powerful way. When we breathe in essential oil, it is captured by the limbic system (also called the emotional brain) which is the seat of emotions.

By the smell, the essential oil can bring appeasement or stimulation. For example, true lavender essential oil contains esters that will interact with the nervous system to relax it. Essential oils can thus invite meditation, release agitation, promote the abandonment of the mind, bring harmony and balance…

How to use these essential oils? By Atmospheric Route

  • In a handkerchief
  • A few drops placed on tissue are enough to relax and create an inspiring or motivating environment, or even improve breathing.
  • In a diffuser
  • Using a diffuser is still the best option for essential oil meditation.

You can formulate a synergy of essential oils to diffuse that will adapt to your practice. We choose 1 to 3 essential oils that are added one by one in the chosen proportions in a 10 ml amber glass bottle for example.

When the time comes, we use a few drops of synergy in the diffuser (for dosage, consult the user manual of your diffuser, the dosage is different depending on the models). However, the slight noise from some of these devices can present some discomfort during a meditation session.
